Interior Design is an ever-evolving profession that requires honed skills in multiple areas. This class was an introduction to multiples softwares that are used in the field today and they were practiced with real world examples.
Radiant Life Church
In the spirit of church being a place where everyone is welcome, the design approach of this church was to blend modern and traditional religious architectural features. The practicality of the facility to have kids ministry and a coffee bar meet modern needs. The lighting and seating of the sanctuary helps the main space cross over many styles. The arches within the sanctuary, windows, and details throughout the building reflect the history of church architecture, as well as the steeple. The use of stained glass in the large chandelier within the chapel and throughout the church in small details was the finishing touch on the space.
This assignment was an introduction to SketchUp and Enscape Softwares.

The Wilson House
My clients, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, wanted to renovate their family home for themselves and their son, Sawyer, to create a mature space to settle down in for a quiet life right before Sawyer goes off to college. They are drawn to Contemporary and Traditional Americana styles. One of their highest requests was for a smooth transition between outdoor and indoor life, which was accomplished through the large porch area, glass doors, and windows that allow natural light to permeate through the whole building. Mr. Wilson wanted the downstairs to have an open and airy feeling for hosting and Mrs. Wilson wanted a separate space where she can spend her evenings unwinding doing her favorite activity, playing the piano.
